Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been babysitting since middle school, and I love children. Not only are they hilarious and unique, but they teach you so much. In high school, I spent a couple summers nannying for a family of 3 children who quickly became like another family. When I got to college, I applied for a babysitting agency that required first aid and CPR certification. For the next four years, I worked with multiple families in different capacities based on what they needed. My most recent, consistent job was with 2 amazing girls that I drove to different activities or spent afternoons with helping tutor them. Their mother was from Turkey and their father was from Iran, so I learned a lot from them while also helping them adapt in different ways!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Anything and everything… To me, it’s important children experience as much as possible on a huge spectrum whether that’s seeing different types of nature/insects and animals, trying new foods, experiencing other cultures, learning to swim, learning to create, you name it! I love exploring this world with children because they have such a fresh perspective with everything and tend to see things we often miss as adults. Most importantly, I enjoy children having fun. They deserve it and should embrace what this world has to offer without fear or dread!!!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Children should be protected and loved at all costs! Protecting and nurturing are the most important part about being a nanny. They truly are a such kind, pure beings and should be treated as such in a world that’s not typically easy to navigate!
My experience with special needs children...
While I don’t have much experience, I am eager and willing to learn.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment is taking 2 girls I babysat for to the lake and teaching them how to skip rocks. They found it to be the ‘coolest thing ever’, and it made me so happy to show them something so simple yet see them light up with each throw. I think experiencing things with children changes how I view them which is why I love taking them to places they haven’t been or doing activities they haven’t explored. It’s almost like getting to experience it for the first time again through them!
