A little bit about me

Hello Families,

Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Marsha.

I have spent much of my career working with children as a Special Educator, Private Tutor, and Programs Director, primarily with elementary and middle school-aged children. I enjoy helping with homework, encouraging children’s interests and independence, and creating a fun, caring environment.

I am a proud mother and grandmother and truly love being around children. I grew up and raised my family in Rhode Island, attended Lesley University in Cambridge and Rhode Island College in Providence, and now live in Westwood.

More recently, I worked as a nanny during COVID, which I really enjoyed, before moving into Executive Administration in commercial real estate.

I am dependable, patient, active, and a confident driver. I enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, cooking, and dogs. I currently drive a 2025 Honda CR-V.

I volunteered to read to children at the Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence. Inviting the parents to take a break, walk and get a coffee.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part of being a nanny is kindness and empathy. Children need someone who listens to their frustrations, respects their feelings, and helps them feel heard and supported. It is also important to follow the family’s routines and house rules while remaining flexible when needed. A good nanny becomes a trusted part of the family and helps ease the parents’ responsibilities, making their busy lives a little easier.

My experience with special needs children...

ADHD, Learning Differences, Dsylexia, Autism, Asperger’s, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystropy, blind, hearing impaired, power wheelchairs and I wrote the IEP’s academic goals, attended the meeting and implemented the lesson plan.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Teaching and playing catch with a sweet 8 year old boy. We played in his backyard often. When he got his puppy, the puppy would steal the ball. It was imperative to keep catching, to keep the ball in play. We would laugh and chase the puppy after the drop was captured. When retrieved the puppy was then the “monkey in the middle”. I enjoyed playing with them both.
