Understanding that children are important members of our society. They need to be guided, not controlled. They need to understand stand just how important listening to a trusted adult is and the consequences that could follow if they don't.

My experience with special needs children...
As a former substitute teacher, I was often hired to give 1:1 support to scholars with behavior troubles. This may mean helping the regulate their emotions, focus on assignments and provide necessary time for breaks when they get overwhelmed.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I had a child that was a picky eater to the hundredth degree. They would only eat spaghetti with red sauce and boiled eggs. No vegetables, no rice and maybe pizza.
So, when we would eat lunch together I would make our plates similar. But, I would add a new thing to my dish. When they would ask if my pasta tasted good with cheddar cheese, I would tell them they had to try it for themselves. They would always refuse.
Until one day, I stepped away from the the kitchen to set the table. I walked back in the kitchen and the child dumped an entire bag of shredded cheese on their pasta.
