A little bit about me

I am a semi-retired Licensed Specialist in School Psychology. Before attaining my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, I taught general education and special education classes in San Antonio. I am the parent of an adult daughter (my proudest achievement). I have also worked with elderly people, including my father while he was on home-hospice. I believe that a calm, patient caregiver providing opportunities for youngsters or elderly to be actively engaged is a recipe for success. The special caregivers whom have been in my life left me with profound appreciation and gratitude. I would like to do the same for another family. My licensing can be verified online with the responsible agencies. I have no criminal record and I have a valid driver’s license. I have never been in a vehicle accident while driving. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love reading activities (shared reading), art projects from painting to creating murals with chalk. I enjoy working with children in little gardens. I like teaching them songs while playing guitar, and enjoying their excitement as they learn to make music.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think that being a reliable, consistent, and trustworthy person in a family's life is a must. A family should be confident that their nanny is going to interact with their child(ren) respectfully, with patience and care. Children are able to tell, quickly, that a particular adult has genuine affection for them. Once they know that, the job is easy!

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with children who have learning differences, behavioral disorders, and more physically involved developmental and life skills needs (cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, brain injury). I am honored to work with any child needing special care.
