My name is Mary. I'm looking for a family in need of a helping hand. I believe that kids should be kids. Childhood goes by far to quickly. Learning to see and enjoy the small things is very important through out life.
I am a very respectful, patient person. I am easy going and flexible to your families needs. Im am very understanding and compassionate towards all situations. Being honest, forthcoming and trustworthy are qualities I wont compromise. Respecting what you as the parent wish for you family is key.
I have successfully raised 2 of my own. My expieience has mostly been in raising them. I do have a large family and seem to be called in whenever it come to our new arrivals.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have helped 2 families before. They were both single parents that needed help mostly while they were at work. One ended because he was laid off and the other started her own business. So she could be home more. I'm still friends with them to this day. I also have many years experience working in daycares. Mostly 0-5 yrs old. I come from a large family with 6 sisters and two brothers. Who have all had children. Being the middle child I was always the one called on to babysit. But honestly enjoyed every moment.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to read and sing with kids. The best part of a book is when I can see a child's imagination ignite, taking them into the book.
I am also a goof ball by nature, so I do voices like I would think the characters would sound. (Some beter then others). It becomes more alive and kids seem to love it.
As for singing I have several songs I've written. All but 1 require moving. It's a good way to keep kids focused and get the wiggled out.
Out side is the place to be (of course weather permitting). Being out in the sunshine and fresh air makes everyone a happier and healthier person.
Rainy days are for fun fort days. It's amazing how a few pillows and blankets can create the best forts. Those are a few things I've enjoyed sharing with children over the years, and would love to enjoy with the next generation.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is the children. Making sure that their needs are met always. So they have the best possible chance to grow up and be good healthy adults. Hopefully, having some fun along the way.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I don't know if this applies. When I was young I had a Nanny myself. She was a wonderful, loving, and patient woman. My fondest memory is when her mom came to visit. My dad was out of town. So she made our favorite pasta. My brother wanted to put salt on his all by himself that night and she let him. He put so much on it was awful. My brother climbed under the table embarrassed so I went down to comfort him. I didnt like seeing him upset. My brother was sniffling a little. Then MarySue said " that sounds like a puppy sniffing around. Do you hear that Mom?" MarySue mom knew what was going on and played along. " I wonder if that puppy is hungry?" Then down from the table came the noodles. My brother and I sat under the table laughing and wimpering till we were so full of noodles we thought we'd pop. I never did find out what happened to my brother's salty noodles though...
It would be awesome to pass along some of the incredible things I learned because of the wonderful Nanny I had.
