As a pediatric medical assistant, I work with children of all ages, everyday from 8 to 5. And I love it!
Over the past 7 years, I have volunteered at an equestrian ranch that specialized in pediatric equestrian therapy for children with physical and mental challenges.
I have also been volunteering at my old high school for week long overnight religious retreats working with teenagers.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love getting kids up and outdoors when weather permits, maintaining an active lifestyle. I also am a huge fan of board games not only because they’re fun for kids but also because they can promote healthy competition and critical thinking skills. Although electronics are very popular, I think it’s also important to read a book everyday, even if it’s just for 30 mins, it can significantly help a child’s reading comprehension and understanding.
My experience with special needs children...
I would probably describe my experience as limited only because I have never cared for one for long periods of time, maybe an hour at most. I have worked with a handful of special needs children but every child is different!
