A little bit about me

My name is Matt & I am looking to get into the nanny (or “manny”) field while I go to school. I love children & I personally believe there is nothing more rewarding than watching these little people become upstanding & compassionate members of society. I believe there’s a lesson to be learned in almost any daily activity— whether it be playing outside, arts & crafts, helping around the house, doing homework, etc.; and I believe these lessons can be used to instill the most positive aspects of good & model behavior.

I have first aid training & experience caring for children ages 1 & above.

My availability is pretty flexible— I am also open to a live-in nanny situation as well.

I am fluent in English & proficient in American Sign Language.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve cared for children, teaching them sign language & arts/crafts at WHS— as well as through a nonprofit in SoCal for a few months.

I have worked with children since I was a junior in high school watching my nephews— now I babysit for almost every one of my friends or family with kids, at least once to twice a year (ages 1yr to 11yrs; girls & boys).

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading, writing, nature walks, arts & crafts, cooking, baking, and listening to the rain.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is setting a good example for the children you are entrusted with— young minds are impressionable at this age, it is imperative that nannies realize & do everything they can to set the best possible example for the children they watching.

My experience with special needs children...

I have limited experience, but am confident that with the right tools I can exceed all expectations.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Was probably when we built a fire for s’mores in the fire pit near the pool & after asking to put it out repeatedly (we were still using it for s’mores), my nephew comes back with a glass of water & puts the entire fire out with one fell swoop. It was truly remarkable & it still very funny to this day.
