A little bit about me

I am a fun loving BYU alumni who loves being outdoors! Over my years of working with kiddos, I have picked up many skills in working with neurotypical children and those with neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD and Autism across the spectrum of age. I have found that I love working with babies and kiddos through my clinical and research experiences! After studying and practicing in the psychology field, I find myself looking for a career shift.

My background in recreational therapy, teaching, and babysitting help make me the ideal nanny candidate.
I hope to work together with the family to plan fun, engaging, and psychosocial skill building activities for children. As a proficient skier, mountain biker, and avid hiker, I hope that each kiddo I work with develops a love for the outdoors, as well as stress coping skills that will serve them well in adulthood.

I pride myself in my reliability, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing circumstances (thinking on my feet).

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

- As a Human Service Worker in an in-patient unit with children ages 3-18. Here I also lead recreational therapy and coping skills focus groups aimed at helping children develop important social and distress coping skills.
- As a volunteer in an after school program at Wasatch Behavioral health aimed to increase math, science, and reading skills in children who are falling behind.
- As a psych technician at the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute who specialized in working with kids.
- As a teacher in a classroom, in Madaba, Jordan under UNICEF. I taught refugee children English and math skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is to uplift those around me. Life can be busy and hard at times, and as a community, we must lift each other up with our actions and words. The phrase, “It takes a village to raise a child” comes into mind when I think about being a nanny.

My experience with special needs children...

As a human service worker and a psych tech, I have had 3 years of experience in working with children with special needs in an inpatient setting and outpatient setting.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was taking the kiddos I was working with, out to Sundance for a ski lesson. As we zipped down the mountain together and practiced the skills they learned, I was touched by the resilience and persistence these children had in learning a new skill (one that I loved very much!). The sun set and we headed home for some hot chocolate with happy hearts and cold toes from a day well spent.
