More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In middle and high school, I taught dance classes to little dancers ages 2-12.
I was a camp counselor in high school and college for campers age 5-13.
During my undergrad degree, I worked as an assistant manager at a children’s museum and I managed the library located in my university campus’s family housing building. Both positions included planning activities and events for children of many ages and the supervision of those children.
I spent a year as a before and after school care aide for elementary school children (ages 4-11). I also spent a summer with that school corporation as a summer “camp counselor” for first graders, and the following fall semester as a long-term substitute for an 8th grade college and careers course.
I very briefly nannied a wonderful 6 year-old boy during the onset of COVID before his mother was able to work from home. I was responsible for assisting him with virtual school, so I do have some experience with virtual school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love reading with/to kids, playing pretend games, involving kiddos in the activities of daily life (like cleaning and cooking) in fun and age-appropriate ways, and doing arts and crafts. I also enjoy doing science experiments, building with legos and blocks, and playing outside (sports, playing tag, playing on playgrounds, nature walks, really anything outdoors!). Some of the favourite memories I have from summers at camp are of setting up scavenger hunts for the campers and watching them follow the clues.
I also find assisting with homework incredibly rewarding (that moment when the lightbulb turns on in their head and they understand something new is pure magic).

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is encouraging a child’s growth, learning, creativity, and burgeoning independence. Every parent wishes they could be with their child all day, and most can’t. Being a nanny means I get to be your eyes and ears while you have to be away. I get to help you help your child grow into the wonderful person they were born to be. What an incredible honor that is!
My experience with special needs children...
I don’t have extensive experience working with children with special needs, but part of my time as a substitute teacher was spent subbing in the special education classroom due to COVID-related staff shortages so I am also not entirely unfamiliar. I am always happy to learn.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my absolute favourite moments of my life was building a blanket fort with my 12 and 13 year old campers and sitting around in a circle inside while the campers vented about the silly things the boys they had crushes had done! Being let into their world and remembering how big those first crushes felt, while also being able to share some sage advice about how important it was not to change yourself for a boy and to prioritise friendships, was something so meaningful. They think they’re so grown up at that age but they’re still just kids and they love blanket forts as much as they did when they were younger.
Another of my absolute favourites was when I was a teenager babysitting a family friend’s toddler, and she wanted to do my makeup and do a photoshoot together. I still have those pictures and I treasure them.

Hello, my name Liz
Being a child caregiver brings me the most joy out of life, I love caring for children and watching them grow and hit milestones in their development, it's such a beautiful thing to be a part of.
I have been in the childcare industry for 10 years whether that be babysitting for friends or family to group care, I have found that nannying is where my heart is most passionate about though.
I am CPR certified as well as first aid and AHT, along with infant development coursework.
I love doing things with children such as arts and crafts, coloring, reading, exploring the outdoors, and playing all sorts of games.
I also have experience with taking care of many different types of pets.
A little about me- I am 26, 4th of 8 children, grew up on a hobby farm in northern Wisconsin, I have lived in Madison for almost 4 years with my cat and love it here, it feels like home. I enjoy playing guitar, hiking, reading, camping and hanging out with family and friends.

Part-Time Nanny Available in Madison, WI: Nicole W.
Hi! I'm Nicole, I am a third-year student at UW-Madison studying Computer Science. I got a part-time internship this summer that is Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM and would like to nanny for the rest of the day. If anyone needs a nanny in the afternoon, even just a few days per week, I would love to! I have a car and lots of experience. My latest experience was with a family that I nannied for 3 summers. We went to the zoo, the park, played games, did homework and educational activities, went to the beach and pool, and many other activities! I currently work as a tutor in Madison tutoring 4th-10th grade students in math.
