My name is McKenzie Pence, I am 19 years old, I was born in Houston, TX but am from Cedar Rapids, IA! I love kids as I am the typical babysitter for my family and friends. I am looking for a part time/ full time job for the next few years. I am very fond of animals and kids as I've grown up to being told they are typically fond of me as well. I am pretty creative and quick on my feet. I have worked one full time nanny job for three kids otherwise countless babysitting jobs and then part time jobs through high school as well. I am currently taking a gap year at LSU to gain in state tuition but will return in January of 2026. With that I am very good at being flexible and time management so I can confidently say even when I go back to school, if it is a good fit I will make it work. More About Me

My experience with special needs children...

My 3 year old cousin is demonstrating some serious signs of autism, as he does not speak or respond. With that I am his primary babysitter as he has always been very fond of me. I have also helped with children in child care services where I would work with many children who showed to carry some challenges.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moments are whenever I find out kids are copying me in some way and when asked where they learned that they share that I had taught them. I've had one little girl who I taught to write her name and she showed her mom and her mom sent me a sweet text thanking me. Another parent sent me a video of their daughter dancing doing a dance move I had taught them without realizing it. I've also had kids pick up silly phrases I say which I think is so funny and sweet. But to think about the influence someone in my position can have on a child is so incredible as it is a big thing and so to use that to teach them something amazing is just so sweet, knowing I have that capability. Warms my heart.
