More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I began babysitting as a teenager and have continued to do so for the past 12 years. During the first half of high school, I worked as a lead preschool teacher with ages 2-3 for 2 years. For my last 2 years of high school, I worked as a nanny for a family of 4 with kids ranging from ages 4-15. I have also worked with youth and teens as a summer camp counselor. Recently, I have provided childcare for parents taking trips. I care for the children, pets, and the home as a whole for anywhere between a single night and a week.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love taking kids on walks and to parks so they can enjoy some fresh air and get some energy out in a safe and healthy way. I also love planning and preparing arts and crafts for them to do. Some fan-favorites recently have been making animal puppets for a puppet show, building model magic sculptures, and trying to make the longest drawing in the world with a roll of easel paper. With the older kids I have cared for, I have really enjoyed getting to teach them how to bake. They have all had an especially good time learning how to knead bread dough and shaping rolls into whatever shape they can come up with. Reading books and playing with toys are also go-to's! I love encouraging imagination and seeing what worlds they start to build when they're playing house, school, dress-up, etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most obvious answer here is safety and that is my number one priority. However, beyond that, I think the most important part about being a nanny is making sure the kids know they are important. I want them to have input on what we do, I want them to feel brave enough to try new things, and I want them to know that they can always ask for help and count on me being there for them. I want to help to create an environment where they know they are safe, taken care of, loved, heard, and prioritized.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when a huge thunderstorm hit late at night. The kids got really nervous about all the thunder and lightning. To try and make it more fun, I told them that they could ask the lightning yes or no questions, if it flashed the answer was yes, if it did not then the answer was no. They got really into it and started asking it silly questions like do you like chocolate and do you believe in unicorns. The crowning moment came when the 8 year old boy loudly asked, "lightning, do you love me?" the brightest bolt of lightning I have ever seen flashed through the sky and all of the kids screamed, not out of fear this time but because they were so excited that the boy now had a girlfriend and it was a bolt of lighting. It was hilarious!

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Orem, UT: Isabella N.
Hi! I’m Isabella Nelson, and I am a family Science major at Utah Valley University in my final year of school. I am a fun, caring and dependable person who genuinely loves working with children and helping them learn and grow.
I have five years of nanny experience caring for three children while their mother worked. During that time, I also provided support to their mother throughout her pregnancy. Additionally, I volunteered for a year at a preschool/daycare, where I gained experience working with young children in a structured environment.
My education in Family Science has also given me a strong understanding of child development, family relationships and positive parenting practices. I enjoy creating a safe, fun and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable, supported and cared for. I would love the opportunity to become a trusted and dependable part of your family!
