Throughout my 5+ years of experience working with children my experience primarily focused on trauma related disorders. That being said, developmental disorders are common among said disorders. There for, roughly 1 in 5 of my clients met criteria for diagnoses such as ASD, Fetal alcohol syndrome, reactive attachment disorder, and more. On a personal level, I have a sibling who has ASD, schizophrenia related symptoms, as well as physical disabilities. I have learned the importance of patience, routine, and most importantly understanding in order to create a positive working relationship.
