I am a mother of river. From ages 3 to 14. So I have 14 years of first hand experience taking care of children. I have also worked in childcare and have run my own daycare numerous times.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Learning activities. Arts and Crafts. Sports. Outdoor activities such as kite flying, chalk, bubbles, sand and water play, etc. I love reading and teaching children to right. Count. Their colors, letters and numbers. Etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Teaching, protecting, and taking care of every child that is in your care as if they are your own. You must love children and have a patient, and kind way of approaching each child. You must know how important you are in the role of raising the child and actually put effort into their learning, their healthy and their safety.
My experience with special needs children...
In my years of working with children I have had at least 5 children in my care throughout the years who have been autistic, in all forms, with all different types of levels. Non-verbal, high functioning, etc. I have learned that regardless of their diagnosis, ALL children are different and you must learn how to adapt and grow with the children you care for. And that you must care for each child in the best way that suits each specific child.
