Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I LOVE making crafts with children, especially crafts that help capture their little-ness such as the handprint/footprint crafts. I enjoy helping make forts a lot, as I'm a champ at utilizing blankets, cushions and such to their maximal potential for the biggest, coolest forts ever 😎 I thoroughly love guiding children to be the best them they can be through kindness, compassion, care, understanding and love. Obviously, the best way to do that is through example!! Adventures are always a must, whether it's just playing in the creek down the street or a full blown zoo day, I get cabin fever too, so I'm always glad to get out and about.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I actually experienced this while babysitting my naughter's friend & his brother, but they were all struggling with wanting to do different activities. I recommended a 20m sand timer, where they each get a turn to do what they want, but together, this way they'd learn to compromise and not have to play all alone..the sand timer specifically is good with visualizing time passing so the activity switch was tolerated better and wasn't so abrupt on them. Well, when one child got frustrated with only getting 20m to do their activity of choice, I figured I'd try making it a challenge or game to do your activity within those 20m...
I've never seen any child play a video game so fast, make Play-Doh aliens so fast, or do gymnastics tricks so fast. 🤣 I unintentionally got wrapped up in the challenge too, and managed to complete making dinner within a 20m timer cycle.
