A little bit about me

My name is Marlene (Mel for short). I’m on the search for forever family. I’m a career nanny/house manager. Besides being a mom of 3 myself, I have over 15 separate years in nannying newborn to preteens, caring and working with children in various settings. From multiples/twins, nanny share, school settings and even overnight care. I have a resume and great references. I’m fully vaccinated, bilingual, structured but play based care and learning, book worm, trained in dance and some sports, love to cook and animal friendly. That’s just a few things but message me for more info. My usual starting rate is $25/hr and up depending on kids and needs with at least 30 guaranteed hours. I just finished adventure with family in Inverness but flexible with travel and location. I live in Chicago and have worked all over Chicagoland and suburbs. I’ve worked in children’s ministry in a classroom setting. I’ve also taught dance, soccer, swim and worked in summer camps. I’ve worked in a daycare as teacher for infant to pre school age.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I’m a book worm, I love to cook for and with kids, I love music and dance. I love to swim and certified lifeguard. I’m fluent in Spanish. I’m animal friendly and love zoos and museums. I’m also a theatre kid so love being creative and doing all the holiday and seasonal crafts. I love play based teaching.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me the most important thing is of course always caring for them but to have bonds with them like I have with my own children so the pop parents know they’re always emotionally cared for as well.

I’ve worked with his on spectrum or adhd. Besides being a mom, I love working with kids with all sorts of personalities and experienced.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My forever fave moments are always watching my babies grow into tots and little interactive kids. It’s always a treat since for me this isn’t just a job, these are considered my chosen forever families on both ends. While parents will always have first and final say, I’m looking to be a part of a family to openly and transparently join the adventure of helping raise and care for amazing lil humans.
