Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

When my friend had a health crisis while giving birth to her first child, she entrusted me to take care of her newborn and the baby ended up staying with me for the first 5 months of their life while she was regaining her health. It was terrifying, beautiful and overall the best thing I have taken on in my life. It granted me endless experience and seeing them together today is a true blessing.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I was a party princess for a year so I like to keep young kids ENTERTAINED! I really like to give "the princess treatment"/"superhero treatment" as often as I can. I love doing creative activities with kids including, coloring, singing, dancing, dress up etc. On the day to day I try to incorporate basic, fun science experiments (clean and safe), and cool history facts/play pretend with the basis being lighthearted historical events. I love taking kids outdoors and I'm always coming up with new ways to make everything a little magical.✨

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing to me with childcare is creating positive and safe environment for kiddos to thrive in. As we grow older our memories change and fade but the good moments stand out. Even if I am written out of those memories by time I hope that the kids I spend time with remember the little moments where they got to have fun, learn and be themselves unabashedly.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked as a Paraprofessional at a middle school until 2020. I specialized in giving extra support to kids who were less inclined to succeed in a classroom setting due to attention disorders, high functioning autism, and trauma related disorders. It was incredibly fulfilling especially because I grew up experiencing how to overcome a learning disorder.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Working as a para with kids who have seen more of the world than they are ready to understand can be incredibly difficult on the day to day. I worked with a 7th grader who struggled with socializing, ADHD, extreme trauma etc. Until I got there he was extremely guarded around adults in general so no one had made a real breakthrough with him in his ability to learn. After 6 months of working with him I got to witness the first moment he believed in himself academically. That is by far my favorite moment working with kids.
