Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been an aunt since I was 9 years old, and have loved every minute of it! My sister relied on me to help her a lot as I was growing up with her kids so that’s where most of my experience comes from. I have a niece that’s 10, and two nephews (both 8 and 4.) The youngest has a disability, and he’s the one who’s taught me the most! I’m 20 now, and have had 11 years total of experience in taking care of children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I absolutely love playtime! Whether it’s indoors or outdoors, I enjoy spending quality time with kids of all ages. My favorite things to do with them are read books before naps or bedtime, taking walks outside (or going to a playground), and having them help around the house! Letting the kids engage in everyday activities around the house (like cooking or cleaning) can be so much fun!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is making sure both the children, and the parents are happy. I want to make a mark on the family’s life, while showing them how important it is to me to give them the best experience possible with my services.
My experience with special needs children...
My 4 year old nephew has Down Syndrome and he has taught me so many things in just his short life. He has difficulty hearing, seeing, eating, and with his mobility. I have helped with all of these things as he’s grown.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When my niece was born, I felt an immediate connection with her. It was unlike anything I’d ever known. Just a few days after she had arrived, I was in charge of watching her at times that my sister would need to eat or rest. I put her to sleep in a rocking chair & cuddled for about an hour with her! That was my favorite moment by far.
