A little bit about me

I’m a single 42 y/o with no chikdren of my own. I live with my two dogs, cat and two goats in the Scott Depot area.

My schedule is flexible. I can be available days, nights or a mix of both. At this time, I’m looking for part time work during the day and/or as much evening/night/weekend work as you need.

I’ve cared for children from 6 weeks to pre-teen on and off for over 30 years. I am not currently CPR or First Aid certified (I have been in the past), but am willing to get certified if you prefer.

I’m comfortable caring for multiple children in your home or mine, driving (school or practice pick up/drop off, play dates, etc.), watching them in or near water (bathing or swimming), light cooking or meal prep, light housekeeping (laundry, dishes, make beds), walking, letting out or feeding pets. I’ve experienced just about everything over the years.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve babysat children from six weeks on for over 30 years, as many as five at a time. I’ve stayed overnight, fed, bathed, put to bed, gotten ready for school or practices, picked up and dropped off.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Obviously, this depends on the age, but I enjoy doing arts and crafts of all kinds, coloring, playing outside, playing with their toys like Barbies, etc, preparing easy meals or snacks together, reading, taking them to the movies or a number of other activities or events, swimming, helping them with homework or practicing their extracurricular activities, painting nails, playing dress up…this list goes on!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Having fun, but also being a good role model, developing a trusting, caring relationship with the children and parents, following the parents rules and implementing their desired discipline like time outs, etc consistently. My goal is to have fun, make sure all the necessary things like homework, baths, etc get done, keep the children happy while still following the rules and have a clean house for the parents to come home to.

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve had experience with children with severe behavioral disorders. I’m patient and willing to learn how to care for any special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I babysat a three children for years. When I started they were six weeks, three and six. The middle child was a sweet little girl. My favorite moment was the first time we were walking outside and she reached up to hold my hand. She would also often ask me to lay down with her at night when it was bedtime. These actions showed me she was comfortable and trusted me. We had a great bond. I did with all three of them. I think that’s important. She was the sweetest and is now in the process of getting her drivers license, her sister is in college and her brother is a star football player. I love seeing them grow into young adults and keeping up with them.
