I am a wife and I have raised 3 children. One of my children had to have special needs like feeding tube, heart monitor, after care surgery, speech, physical therapy so I had to become cpr and first aid certification in 1999 when he was born.

My experience with special needs children...
My son was born 5 months premature due to car accident that was the other parties fault and was born with cleft lip/ palate. So he was in the nicu for 4 months. Was sent home on a heart monitor and feeding tube. And had to feed him with a haberman feeder. Had to do a lot of physical therapy, speech therapy with him due to him being premature. Had learned how to have patience.
