More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
*First overnight babysitting job at ten years old with a 5 year old, a three year old, and a 10 day old newborn
*At 13 years old, I babysat 13 children ages newborn through 3 years old all at once by myself; so that a bunch of police officers could attend a Christmas party. After that evening, I became the go-to babysitter for my small town's entire police department.
*Worked in a daycare full time at 19
*Became a full time nanny for a 10 month old baby by age 20. Held that position for a year.
*Started a 2nd nanny position for a family with a 9 year old, a 2 year old, and two 1 year old twin boys.
*Held another nanny position for a 2 year old and a 1 year old. Got married in 2007, and was at this position when I became pregnant with our first child.
*Once I started making my own babies, I've been doing the mom thing for 15 years now; and have recently begun nanny work again. I'm currently working for the sweetest couple, caring for their newborn two days a week while they work.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I am obsessed with incorporating imaginative play into every single day. Being creative, lighting up the imagination is...everything. I love the outdoors. I believe pulling fresh air into our lungs daily, moving our bodies, connecting with the world around us is an absolutely pivotal component in overall well being. Seeing the color green, SMELLING the color green...is scientifically proven to boost overall mood and contributes to the body and mind funding balance within itself and it's environment. I'm also a proud geek, I'd exist in academia in perpetuity if I could. I'm a huge advocate for reading daily. Books, stories...are the way we expand our mind and garner confidence in our inherent abilities to create and shape the reality we want to see in the world. My mother's happy place was in a library, immersed in literature; and this apple fell smack into the same spot 🥰📚
The most important part about being a nanny...
Instilling confidence and creativity in every child's psyche. Building confidence and self love. Encouraging exploration of the wide world around them. Taming doubt, and encouraging unbridled passion for learning. Teaching empathy and love for one another, and encouraging kindness and healthy interactions as a base for handling all future relationships.
My experience with special needs children...
I grew up in a household with two special needs siblings. My younger brother, four years my junior; struggles with ADHD/Aspergers/Autism/Schizophrenia. My younger sister has Down Syndrome. Throughout all my years of babysitting, nannying, living; I've also had the opportunities to work with folks with all sorts of disabilities both mental and physical. I've had live in caregiver positions that require extreme physicality. You name it, I likely have experience with it.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Oh I have several! Must I choose just one??? I've delighted in so many moments over the years...hmm.
One day in the town in Oregon where I grew up, it was pouring rain as was quite usual for that town. I was a nanny for my friends 10 month old baby boy, and she hadn't packed enough items into the diaper bag to keep him warm. I was 19, and we still had about 20 minutes until the city bus arrived at the bus station to take us to where we were going. It was POURING, and this sweet baby had to be kept warm. Period. I wracked my brain...scoured the diaper bag, checked my person...in an attempt to find something to help warm the babe. I turned up nothing. I knew my body was adequately warm enough to keep him safe, so I shoved him down my shirt so he was against my skin; zipped my jacket up to where only his head was turned to breathe but not get soaked. I cradled his head with my hands, and shielded him from rain. He stopped crying immediately and started cooing again. I took it as a win.
