I am very knowledgeable in child behaviors, from adhd to sensory to autism and reactive attachment. I do regular trainings cpr and first aid just ran out waiting for renewal. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I started watching kids at a young age of 10. I use to get my siblings ready for school and we all went, and started with baby sitting the neighborhood kids. I have 10+ years experience teaching pre school. I started out with infants and toddlers, got the rest of my CDA certificate and went to teaching preschool.
Eventually when I relocated to Penobscot county from York county. I went along with my husband got licensed to foster to adopt we had children from newborn to age 13. Had many kids . It was a tough job ! I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love children! Always have. We get a gift we are good at. It’s up to us to find out what it is, mine is children.
Patience with kids and gaining trust with the children and parents is important. Parents must must be comfortable with the child provider. If you don’t have trust then the provider is out of a job.

My experience with special needs children...

Experienced in dealing with many different types of behaviors from RAD, DMDD, autism , anxiety and drug affected and fas ( this is coming from when I fostered). Also experienced in aggression.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was teaching preschool my preschooler had a long difficult name to write. I had been working with her for a while with her letters. This little 3 year old wrote her name for the very first time. I was over the moon and so wasn’t she. I was so proud of her, she threw her arms around me, gave me a hug and said I love. “ Bowissah aka Melissa.. I saved her work for when her mom picked her up. showed mom and happy teachers rushed down and she said this is so incredibly sweet! Thank you so much for this!! It was great moment for all of us! My boss later said to me, “ if you reach 1 child in your group you have done your job”! I was good at my job !
