"Melonie was a fantastic nanny. She prepared healthy meals, took our daughter on fun adventures outside and had great communication with us daily before leaving. I LOVE that she is easy going and was flexible with her schedule when my husband or I needed to stay late at work. If you are looking for a great nanny you found it. She even helped with laundry and the dishes. Please reach out to me if you have any further questions. We will be sad to see Melonie go! "

More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was an art docent for my son's class his entire elementary school career. I also helped out with my brother and god daughter tramendously when they were growing up. He is 22 now and she is 6.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love keeping tiny hands engaged. I love science experiments. We do walking water that shows what happens to water in tree roots. We give ants colored sugar water amd watch rainbow ants scurry around because they have translucent abdomens. I get kiwi crates for them. We have 2 dress up bins. We lobe going to the library. Going to the park children's museums the zoo etc. The girls were in dance 30 min once a week before it ended and they decided to move home. We do nature scavenger hunts. We just made windchimes for father's day out of the things we gathered from our last hunt. We have dance parties and sing karaoke. We love to pretend and will put on little plays they did frozen that went to the soundtrack. We made our own zoo with stuffys and action figures on a day that was too yucky to go to the actual zoo. We had 35 different exhibits. They made their own tickets ad paid for them with our learning money. They used their money to buy snacks from a concession stand they made.😊😎
The most important part about being a nanny...
Keeping little hands and minds engaged and off of technology is vital! You can always learn with everything you do while having a blast doing it!😊😎 treating them like little people with repect and dignity is also very important. Keeping a behavior chart to hold them accountable for their actions helps instill responsibility manners and that there are consequences for your actions. I am not cold by any means quite the opposite actually but crocodile tears don't work on me only the real thing and it makes them giggle when I tell them I just got back from the doctor and he told me I severely allergic to whining! 😂😂🤣🤣
My experience with special needs children...
My son has add. My brother has adhd. And my best friend's brother has aspergurs. I was first aid and cpr certified but it lapsed and I just haven't gotten recertified but have no problem doing that if it would make you feel more comfortable.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is seeing them finally grasp something that they've been struggling with. Watching them light up grow and learn blows me away everytime. It's so heartwarming and satisfying.
