I have worked as a professional childcare worker for A to Z Building Blocks for the past 2 years, serving as the lead teacher for their two-year-old class and am now leading the toddler class. I am responsible for creating a classroom schedule, incorporating desired curriculums, supporting my team's collaboration, and creating a loving, safe, and nurturing environment for the children.
I also currently work as a choreographer for Spanish Fork Youtheatre which offers an enriching theater experience to children ages 5-18!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love field trips! Including walks, park visits, etc. Everything is exciting through the eyes of a child!
I enjoy teaching children dances, playing movement games like musical chairs, or imaginary games like "restaurant". But nothing can beat snuggles and a good book!

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of the most important things about being a nanny is helping children to feel safe and loved. Once that environment is established (and maintained), children can feel inspired to learn from their surroundings, feel confident to experiment with new knowledge, and show a willingness to progress!
It is also important to teach and model social and emotional skills, helping children to practice principles that will make their lives easier and more successful in the long run.
Finally, children should have fun and do good and productive things with their time! So many developmental milestones can be tapped through intentional play!

My experience with special needs children...
I have more than 10 hours of practical training experience in elementary schools, spread over the course of several weeks, with children diagnosed with mild/moderate and severe special needs. I also completed an Introduction to Special Education course and a Language Arts Instruction: Disabilities course at BYU while I was temporarily in the Special Education major.
In addition, I have a cousin with special needs who I love so much! I have spent time with her and have learned so much from her!
