The most important part about being a nanny...
Over the past summer, whilst having a cabin of 8 elementary aged girls, a nasty storm hit our camp and we had to go into a temporary shelter for the night. Being so young, the storm definitely shook up some of my campers. Thankfully I was able to turn the situation around and we ended up making a big poster stating "I survived the hurricane" right in the middle. They went around signing their names and retelling their favorite parts of the week, forgetting all about the previous nights terror. It got a laugh out of my co-workers and was an amazing way to turn around such an unfortunate scenario.
