More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I love being a sitter because I am passionate about helping kids learn and grow in a safe, joyful environment. My journey began at age 12 as a parent helper, caring for a 4-year-old boy. I stayed with that family until high school graduation, eventually managing all three of their kids. This gave me hands-on experience in meal prep, light cleaning, tutoring, and organizing activities.
I excel at building long-term bonds. I spent years creating a structured environment for a girl with Down syndrome, and I still care for a toddler I took on in high school during college breaks. In the summer, I work as a full-time nanny, managing daily schedules, camp transportation, and active outings.
Currently, I study Psychology at Binghamton University to pursue child psychology. Formally safety-trained, I manage severe allergies myself, am certified in anaphylaxis care, and am experienced with an Epi-Pen. I am completely dedicated to your child's unique personality and well-being.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
• Crafts & Creativity: I love organizing hands-on art projects that match a child's developmental stage. This includes everything from open-ended painting and sensory bin exploration to building science-oriented crafts that spark curiosity.
• Active Outdoor Play: Keeping kids physically engaged is one of my top priorities. I regularly plan outdoor scavenger hunts, nature hikes, neighborhood park trips, and backyard sports to encourage healthy movement and screen-free fun.
• Social-Emotional Learning: Guided by my psychology background, I weave emotional growth into daily play. I focus on interactive reading sessions to discuss character feelings, cooperative games that teach teamwork, and structured routines that build confidence and patience.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most vital aspect of caregiving is recognizing that every child is an individual with completely unique personality traits, strengths, and developmental needs. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to being a great nanny. For me, it means being deeply adaptive—knowing when a child needs a highly structured routine and patience to handle sensory transitions, when they need active energy on the basketball court, or when they need creative, artistic outlets. By blending my hands-on experience with my psychology studies, I focus on unlocking each child’s specific potential and ensuring they feel celebrated for exactly who they are.
My experience with special needs children...
I spent several years babysitting a young girl with Down syndrome, focusing on creating a safe, supportive, and predictable environment where she could truly thrive. Through this meaningful role, I learned to implement specific emotional regulation techniques, practice radical patience, and adapt my communication style to match her unique processing needs.
A major breakthrough in our connection came when I discovered her deep love for playing with dolls. I creatively integrated them into our routine as a therapeutic tool to help her navigate big emotions. By role-playing different scenarios with the dolls, I gave her a comfortable, creative outlet to express her thoughts, which allowed her to communicate her feelings and needs to me much more effectively.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my absolute favorite and most rewarding nanny moments occurred after a family's beloved, long-term nanny left. One of the boys was taking the change incredibly hard, understandably feeling guarded and resistant to bonding with someone new. Instead of forcing a connection, I gave him space while actively looking for a bridge to earn his trust.
That bridge turned out to be our shared love for sports. I began jumping right onto the court to play basketball with him, joining him in the pool for swim races, and cheering him on during athletic games. Through the shared energy of sports, his walls gradually came down. Our active afternoons completely shifted his perspective, turning a difficult transition into a period of excitement and growth. This experience not only brought us incredibly close, but it also taught me a profound lesson in patience: the best way to help a child navigate a tough transition is to meet them exactly where their passions lie.
