Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My longest running job had bas been as a nanny/baby-sitter for family members' and/or family friends' kids over the years. My only official job watching toddlers in a daycare in 2020. I also have some experience with newborns, but usually had 2-3 women in the room with me at the same time.

Puzzles, playing with toys, coloring, arts and crafts, and reading.

Patience. I know it's cliché, but it's the most important for ALL ages.
My experience with special needs children...
I have practically no experience with special needs children. I did watch two children who were mentally challenged and had more autism, but only in for about an hour every day.
The most important part about being a nanny...
In the daycare I worked in, three of the toddlers I watched were very attached to their shoes and all were very fancy and/or shiny boots. It's a small memory, but it always made my day better - even when they screamed because they lost their boots or refused to take off their boots.
