A little bit about me

Hi my name is Michaela, I’m 20 years old. I graduated high school in 2020. Im currently working full time as a lead teacher for 2year olds at a nursery. I’ve only been here a little over 2 months but the location I work at is a bit too unreliable and unprofessional for me. Therefor, I’m looking to go back to being a nanny again. I have nannied for a family that I met through nanny lane once before and I loved it but unfortunately they were no longer able to pay me for my time. So with having that experience in mind, I will need to be on payroll with a future family. I’m very “kid oriented” meaning I spend 95% of my time with kids. From just working with kids to spending my free time doing activities with family/friend’s kids and not to mention I live with kids! I’m very artistic, energetic, enthusiastic, and neat. I love arts and crafts, swimming, playing with kids at the playground, taking kids on adventures like the zoo or aquarium and all that kind of fun stuff!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

As mentioned, I am the lead teacher for a class of 2 year olds at a nursery. My duties include changing diapers, breakfast and lunch, simple learning activities, and more. Before this I was a nanny for 3 children for approximately 6 months where I had very similar responsibilities along with school drop off/ pick up.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love making children happy so anything they are interested in I’m interested in. I enjoy doing crafts, going to the park, playing with toys. I love finding out what the child’s interests are so we can go on adventures to wherever it may be (zoo, pool, petting zoo, farm, water park)

The most important part about being a nanny...

Bringing joy to children and being someone they can look up to.

My experience with special needs children...

In my classroom of 2 year olds, I also care for a beautiful 5 year old girl with autism. She can be a lot at times especially with all the other 2 year olds but I adore working with her. This is my only experience so I would need some additional training on what your special needs child may require.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I only worked m-f as a nanny, but one Saturday morning I had planned on taking my 4 year old nephew to the play ground where I had the idea to invite my nanny family. My nephew and I went to pick them up so I had a whole car full and we went and had a BLAST at lake Waterford park. If you’re unfamiliar it is a HUGE playground AND a duck pond. So after we were all tired out from the play ground, we went and took a walk around the pond feeding the ducks. When we left we got McDonald’s for lunch and ice cream that I had promised them. On the ride to the park we were singing our hearts out to our favorite Disney songs. and afterwards, on the way home it was such a quiet ride with all the tired out sleepy kids. In that moment, I knew every minute of that day was worth it!
