More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked for the Center of Disabilities in NYC working with all ages. I worked as an Au Pair & nanny with ages 0-10. I also Volunteered with Lifeline (a children’s save haven) working with kids 0-18
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love exploring with kids, even if we have to stop every 10 seconds because something interests them. Exploring parks, places, museums even exploring new tv shows. I love learning what they love doing. What makes them THEM.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and balanced environment where children feel seen, respected, and free to be themselves. It’s not just about care, but connection teaching them confidence, patience, and kindness through how you show up every day.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience working at the Center of Disabilities with individuals of all ages (0–99) who have both mental and physical disabilities. I also have family members with disabilities, which has given me a deep understanding and compassion for their needs. I believe in treating everyone with respect and equality, not as if they are weak or incapable and I’ve found that people thrive and are happiest in my care because I speak to them and treat them as I would anyone else.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was and is when I’m getting to know a kid, no matter the age. When they start showing me their personality. When they can be goofy or when they know maybe they’ve done something wrong and I’m the person they come to trust to assure them. Even if it’s an infant or non verbal there’s a look of reassurance that deep down you just know.

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Washington, DC: Tykeyah F.
I’m Tykeyah! Children are little people you can both teach and learn from. My goal as a child care professional is to have an interchange of encouragement. As a people, so much in life happens and we just need to know we are loved and cared for. As a mom myself I know how important it is to feel safe and have a peace of mind when it comes to the right person to care for my child, so I try my best to treat others the way I want to be treated. Honesty, loyalty and respect, and love are very important qualities to me! Children are an awesome expression of fun, authenticity, and relativity therefore, many lessons can be taught through the enjoyment and of everyday things and I intend to make that happen!
