I've worked with kids for over 30 years. I've worked in day cares, as a nanny while going through college, with light housekeeping and laundry. I've owned my own licensed family day care for 20 years. I worked as a Preschool teacher and as a Director of a Day Care. I have my Associate Degree in Early Childhood, my Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. I am CPR, AED, & First Aid certified. I am also MAT certified. I enjoy gardening, yoga, walking, and reading. I love reading to children, playing with them on their level and teaching them in all learning areas. I look forward to meeting with you!

I enjoy reading with them, walking, gardening, arts and crafts, sensory activities, cooking, swimming, playing and building, and so much more. I would like to get to know the child first and see where their interests are.

The most important part about being a nanny is establishing trust and a relationship, caring and nurturing both the child/children while supporting the parents as well.
My experience with special needs children...
Over my years in education, I have had experience with special needs children. I have raised 3 boys, 2 of which have special needs. My first son has High functioning Asperger's and my second son has a learning disability. I use redirection mostly and explain concepts in different modalities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Raising someone else's kids is an amazing experience. It's like being a grandma without being a mom, that has been my experience. Playing with them and creating a relationship with the child/children that is very unique. My favorite moment was when I baked with them, which they have never done. They had so much fun and thanked me; which totally took me by surprise. It was one of my happiest moment that in our busy world we seem to take for granted. It's humbling when a 4 and 6 year old says thank you for baking with us.
