More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered at a public elementary school as a para, as well being employed for their summer program. I also babysat for a few different families. I regularly (3 days a week) babysat a 3 year old girl for a little over a year. Growing up I used to help out my neighbors after school and during vacations. They had three kids ages 2, 4, and 6. I also have a lot of experience with children on the autism spectrum. My brother is on the spectrum, and growing up I helped my parents out with aiding to his needs. Additionally, when I was volunteering at the elementary school I worked with a many children on the spectrum.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I believe that it is necessary to provide children with age appropriate activities that aid in the developmental process of childhood. Every child is different. I believe it’s important to meet children where they are developmentally to ensure they are being provided what they need to further their growth.
I think it’s very important for children to get outside and use their imagination.
In the past while working with children I enjoyed going for nature walks, dancing, playing dress up, doing puzzles, building forts, playing hide and seek (great way for young children to practice counting), listening to music and singing, and so much more!

The most important part of being a nanny is not only providing quality and consistent care to children, but ensuring the care provided lines up with the family’s wants and needs for their children.

My experience with special needs children...

I grew up with a sibling on the autism spectrum. My whole life I’ve had the many ways to correctly care for a child with special needs modeled to me by my parents. I would step in whenever necessary. I then babysat a 3 year old girl who had some developmental challenges for over a year. Additionally, I volunteered at an elementary school where I worked with many kids on the autism spectrum, as well as kids with other special needs.
