Hi my name is Michelle! I’m a mother and wife and a of two grown children a boy and a girl. These two were my world. Until they both brought me two beautiful grand daughters into my life. I’m so in love with these little ones. I want to take care of your little ones like I take care of my gran daughters. I would treat them as my own.
My experience is broad and started in a home day care with watching 5 children all school aged children with two of the children being mine. I also have a year experience in a twos classroom at a day care in Gastonia. I also taught at a church’s morning out program in a classroom of three year olds. I do have references upon request.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have over 10 years of experience working with children in a variety of settings. I was a substitute teacher for 10 years and also worked one-on-one with several children, many of whom had special needs. In addition, I worked for a couple of years in a church daycare caring for children in the two- and three-year-old classrooms.

I also provided in-home childcare for friends and neighbors, giving them peace of mind knowing their children were in a safe, loving, and familiar environment. Caring for children has always been something I truly enjoy, and I treat every child with the same patience, kindness, and attention I would want for my own family.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy a variety of engaging, age appropriate activities with children that support both learning and fun. I love reading picture books aloud and using simple storytelling with puppets to bring stories to life. I also support early learning skills such as letter and number recognition, rhyming games, and practicing writing their name.

Creatively, I enjoy arts and crafts like coloring, finger painting, cutting and gluing, and seasonal projects. I also incorporate hands on learning through puzzles, matching games, counting with blocks, and sensory play.

Music and movement are important as well, including singing nursery rhymes, dancing, playing simple instruments, and games like freeze dance. When possible, I enjoy outdoor play such as playground time, nature walks, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and ball games.

I also value pretend play and social emotional development through role playing, sharing activities, and helping children express their feelings in positive, age appropriate ways.

One of my favorite moments was watching a child I cared for gain confidence in reading. After weeks of reading together aknots every day, they proudly read a short picture book to me on their own for the first time. Their excitement and sense of accomplishment was such a rewarding moment for both of us.
