Compassion and... ENERGY! I feel that the most important part of being a nanny is showing that you care by giving the children your utmost attention. Being energetic is a must, coming to work with 100% and carrying that energy throughout the day, because I am setting an example, and the kids are watching me. Being a nanny is a professional job, so once I meet the kids I develop a schedule that best suits their needs/interests and we stick to it, so the kids are not anxious, and I am prepared to provide them with constructive activities, encouraging and edifying them in everything they do.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I used to watch twin boys and they were so sweet. One was really soft-spoken, and the other was very outgoing. One day we built a pillow fort and the quiet one was too quiet, turns out he was hiding behind the couch, and when he popped out to scare me I pretended to pass out. The outgoing boy got worried, but once I popped up and scared them, we all laughed and knocked down the pillow fort.
