Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have 3 siblings and have been watching them since I was 14. I also started to watch kids in my neighborhood around 15 years old. I have watched kids that have medical conditions such as type one diabetes, and I am also CPR certified! I've been working with diabetic kids for 1-2 years as I have a diabetic in my family and know how to correctly treat them.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to read books to kids and help them with homework. I also enjoy playing with them and coloring with chalk with them if that's something they also enjoy doing.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure the kids are having fun is such a crucial part. Kids can get pretty sad when parents leave so having someone fun to be around can be a good factor in them enjoying the evenings without their parents.
My experience with special needs children...
My sister and dad both have T1D (type one diabetes) so I am very familiar with the opnipod and dexom as well as bolusing for meals and making sure blood sugar numbers are stable. I have been fortunate to babysit for families who have kids with T1D so that they feel comfortable going out on date nights!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I loved when a mom met one of my friends randomly at church and told her that she wishes that her daughter grows up to be like me. This was truly the highlight of my year and truly the best compliment I could have received!
