Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes being a mom of two little ones, serving as a Children’s Ministry Director for 2 years, volunteering in children’s ministry for 4 years, and providing in-home childcare for 2 years. I have references!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Activities I enjoy doing with children include reading stories, doing arts and crafts, imaginative play, building with blocks, outdoor play, simple science experiments, music and movement, and helping them explore new skills in a fun, hands-on way. I love creating a balance of structured activities and free play so kids can feel engaged, creative, and comfortable.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and consistent environment where each child feels valued, understood, and cared for. I focus on their individual needs, guide them with patience, and help them grow while making sure they feel happy, secure, and confident. Equally important is building trust with the families I work with, so they feel confident that their children are in caring, capable, and attentive hands.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments actually includes two very different experiences that both stand out.
The first was when the infamous Kernersville bear wandered into our backyard while the kids and I were playing outside. I stayed calm, quickly assessed the situation, and made sure the child I was caring for got to safety before my own, and we all ended up safe and sound. It was a little scary, but it reminded me how important it is to stay alert and prepared!
The second was a much sweeter moment—two of my in-home childcare kids at the time asked to come to my house on a Saturday, even though their parents didn’t have a specific childcare need that day. It really warmed my heart to know they felt so happy, safe, and comfortable in my home that they wanted to spend extra time together with my children and myself.
