With over 10 years of experience in childcare, I have had the privilege of working in various roles that include providing personalized care, ABA therapy, and literacy tutoring. My experience also extends to teaching in Sunday school for 6 years, where I developed strong skills in fostering children’s spiritual and educational growth. I am particularly passionate about working with children on the autism spectrum, helping them reach their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment. Additionally, I have served as a peer tutor and offered individual tutoring for several years. My diverse background equips me to meet each child’s unique needs with compassion, professionalism, and a deep commitment to their well-being.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I believe that engaging children in creative and enjoyable activities is key to their development and happiness. I love organizing art projects that allow children to express themselves, as well as dance and karaoke parties that encourage them to move and have fun. Swimming is another favorite activity, offering both exercise and play in a safe environment. I’m also a strong advocate for free play, which lets children explore their interests and develop independence. Building rapport is essential, so I take the time to positively pair with each child by participating in activities they love, ensuring they feel understood and supported.

My experience with special needs children...

My passion for working with children with special needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum, has been a driving force in my career. As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for a year, I gained invaluable experience in applying Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques to support the growth and development of children with autism. This role deepened my commitment to serving families with children who have special needs, as I witnessed firsthand the positive impact of personalized care and targeted interventions. My extensive background in childcare, combined with my specialized experience, allows me to provide compassionate, effective support tailored to each child’s unique abilities and challenges.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was caring for two beautiful girls ages 3 months and 2 and as the parents were picking up, the 2-year-old was bouncing off the walls, but needed to get her coat and shoes on so they could leave. She had a favorite teddy that she was running away with. I simply took the teddy and came down to her level with the coat and shoes and said, "First coat and shoes, then teddy." She immediately sat down and I helped her get her shoes and coat on and then she immediately received the toy afterwards and verbal praise. The parents visibly had sighs of relief that i was able to reach their child and help them with their departure process. I believe that all parents need all the help they can get as a single parent myself to a 10-year-old autistic boy. It brings me joy when I can ease the workload for the families I serve.
