Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Early Childhood Development Degree. I have been caring for a non verbal autistic boy for over 4 years. His mother is leaving the workforce to be at home with her son.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Drawing, coloring, painting, playdough, wet sand, imaginary play such as going shopping, pirate ship, tea parties, dinosaur play. Lego blocks and car/truck play. Fort/tent play. Swimming pool/ sprinkler play. Swing set and trampoline play. Nature/treasure hunt.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is enhancing the child's day by activities and playtime and interaction to bring out the best for their physical and mental and emotional development. Watching them grow and excel and their happiness at their accomplishments

My experience with special needs children...

I have taken care of a non verbal autistic boy since he was 3 years old and is now 7 years old. His diet was unique and consisted of crunchy items only. He began eating 2 items only and has now branched out to 10 items over the years with consistent introductions to various other crunchy foods. He required diaper changes until he was 5 years old and has now graduated to pull ups. Due to sensory issues potty training in still in progress. He also has pica at which chewing blocks has aided greatly. He is very sweet and loving and loves to laugh. He enjoys interaction/playtime. Watching him grow and advance has been so rewarding and learning how to approach things with him that allow introductions and his timing/willingness to adapt to each one in harmony and full acceptance truly has enriched all of us. He is very tablet smart and has operated his own tablet since he was 2 years old.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Although there are many the one that came to my mind instantly was when I was driving him around in the car which he loves I had music playing softly and he began to hum to the music and away his body in a sorta dancing way and then began to laugh hysterically that he done that.
