Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love getting children involved in artistic activities. I love painting, playing Legos, barbies, outside adventures, trains, and many more. I try and engage with the children in any way other than screen time that I can.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Safety and parental communication. After the end of every shift I life to give the parents a run down of what each kid was able to accomplish for the day (ex: homework, sharing abilities, a chore, bathing) and a behavior analysis from over the course of the day. This way the parents are aware of everything happening in their home and with their children. I can cater reports to fit each families needs.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with many special needs children. Most notably my time as a substitute teacher was spent primary in sped classes.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I worked with one family over the course of a year and one of my favorite moments was when I got the two young boys, 3 and 5, to work together and build a functioning train track that took over the entire living room. They had me keep it safe until their parents got home so they could show them.
