I have many, but my last relevant experience is:
I spent the last year and a half as a full-time live-out nanny for a toddler(since he was 1 year old, now 28 months) and infant twins since they got home from the hospital, managing three little ones at very different stages. I handled bottles, meals, naps, diapers, outings, developmental play, and daily routines while keeping the environment calm and organized. I also supported milestones like crawling, language, emotional regulation, and sensory learning. This role strengthened my ability to multitask, stay patient, and understand each child’s unique needs.

I love creating calm, meaningful activities that support each child’s development. With newborns, I focus on connection and sensory learning through gentle tummy-time variations, high-contrast visual play, soft music, baby-safe texture exploration, and mirror play for early self-awareness. I narrate the day, sing, and encourage early communication cues to build strong language foundations. With toddlers, I enjoy Montessori-style tasks, sensory bins, simple problem-solving games, nature walks, outdoor discovery, and open-ended play that builds independence and curiosity. I also use storytelling, emotional-learning activities, and practical life tasks like pouring or sorting to help them feel capable and confident. My goal is always to offer calm, engaging, developmentally rich experiences that help children grow at their own rhythm.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and consistent environment where children feel understood and supported. A nanny becomes part of a child’s emotional world, so trust, patience, and connection matter just as much as routines and care. I believe in being calm, present, and intentional—helping children feel confident, secure, and encouraged as they grow. Supporting parents and bringing harmony to the household is a key part of that as well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was watching the toddler I cared for proudly help his baby siblings during tummy time after weeks of observing me encourage them. He gently cheered them on and copied the same phrases I used. It was such a sweet mix of empathy, learning, and connection. Moments like that—when you see a child develop kindness, confidence, or a new skill—remind me why I love this work so deeply.
