Hey, I’m MJ! I’ve been babysitting for various families since I was 13, and I’ve worked at an after-school learning program for kids for almost 3 years now now. I’ve done paid work with people with disabilities for 3 years, and volunteered with them for about 5 years. I’m non-binary, I want to say that up front before I meet with any families. For the summer I can be a bit busy, but I’m looking to find a family I can do date night babysitting for, and potentially provide some daytime care. I’m currently 20, I turn 21 in October.

I currently work at a business called Code Ninjas, teaching computer coding to children ages 5-14, I was a Sensei for just over two years (what we call teachers), and now I am the Assistant Center Director.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with several autistic children at my current job, and have worked one on one with 3 special needs children through 2 different state programs. I also have experience with adults with special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One night I was in the kitchen doing some dishes, and one of the kids I was watching wanted to help me. She was two, so I gave her a cup and a scrub brush I wasn’t using and she was content. It’s so funny how they’re so excited to do chores when they’re that young. This was the same little girl that earlier asked for chocolate milk in a gremlin voice.
