I enjoy reading with children, doing crafts/art projects, watching movies, dancing/movement activities, playing card or board games, basically whatever the child enjoys or is interested in.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure children feel they are important to their caregiver and that they matter. I hate to see children out with an adult who is ignoring them and putting their focus on their cell phone, especially when the child is trying desperately to get their attention. The other important thing is to give them consistency in their life instead of one set of rules with their parents and another with their nanny/sitter.
My experience with special needs children...
Have had experience with children with Down Syndrome. I have worked with children with Down Syndrome at the Library and my cousin's little girl who is 6 has Down Syndrome.
