A little bit about me

My name is Monique and I'm looking for a live out, full-time, or at minimum 30 hrs family to work with. I have experience caring for newborns, primary school, and toddlers. I was with a family for 2 years with 2 toddlers ages 3 and 5 live in nanny.

If you need help with your children, I'm your go-to girl! I'm young and have a lot of energy ! I am all about safety, education, and fun. I also speak some Spanish although not completely fluent.

I have worked as a Direct Support Professional for about 2 years, so I have a lot of experience the mental health field and special needs.

In my free time I like to feed the ducks, take care of my plants, read, and go camping. I am currently in school for CardioVascular Sonography Mondays through Thursday 5pm - 11pm so I a, looking for something during the day, and I can also work weekends any hours. The most important part about being a nanny...

Having patience and having fun. I think being energetic and being able to run around shows that you're not just doing something like taking them to the park but actually being with them and giving the attention that they need. Ultimately all they want is to be seen and heard.

My experience with special needs children...

I haven't worked specifically with special needs children, however, I did work with special needs adults from age 18 and up. From autism, to non verbal, and a bunch others.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was caring for a toddler who was very quiet and not your typical run around toddler. I desperately wanted to connect with him, but I found that most conversations were a dead end, until.. he was in trouble by his parent and i saw he hid under his bed and obviously seemed upset. I crawled under with a toy in hand- this simple thing opened him up so much. I think it’s because he never expected an adult to climb or lower down to where he is at (luckily I’m skinny enough I can crawl and fit anywhere kids go lol) so anyways, we didn’t talk about what happened we just played a little and his mood completely switched and he was ready to get out from under the bed. After that I felt like I had a complete break through with him and it felt so good to have that connection
