More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Apart from my babysitting/nannying experience, I took 3 years of childcare class in high school and the last year we worked hands on with the pre-k students who were children of the staff. This experience really helped when I started nannying after high school.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing crafts and going on outings! Anything that is fun but also educational is my favorite thing to do, like the library, museums, etc. I love what I do and think a child adds joy to any activity (even when there can be stressful moments), so even something as simple as grocery shopping can be turned into a fun experience.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a nanny is an honor, because parents are trusting you with the most important and vulnerable person in their life. I think the most important part is that I get to help shape this little human into the best person they can be, giving them the tools and support to grow and learn about the world around them. It’s an opportunity to treat someone exactly how I would have wanted to be treated as a child, and to be a part of so many fun memories. It’s also important to build that trust and connection with the parents, so that everyone feels secure and happy, allowing for the children to thrive.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments happened during a car ride with my then almost 3 year old nanny kid. I had one of my favorite songs playing—one we listened to in the car and at home often—and right before the beat drop I would always say to him, “You ready?” so we could headbang together. This time, as the song built up, before I could say anything, he looked at me and said, “You ready, Mo?” I couldn’t help but burst out laughing. I hadn’t realized he’d been paying such close attention or remembering our little tradition. It was such a sweet, funny moment that reminded me how much kids pick up on and how special those little things can be.

Live-In Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Downtown Brooklyn, NY: Timi-Leigh M.
Hi! My name is Timi-Leigh Meade, and I’m a recent graduate of the University of Georgia. I grew up at the Jersey Shore, and a fun fact about me is that I’m a CODA (child of a deaf adult). For five years, I nannied triplets in my community - teaching them ASL, playing sports, and creating fun crafts. At UGA, I worked at Bitty & Beau’s Coffee, a shop that empowers adults with disabilities. Through this experience, I developed strong leadership, communication, and patience. I’m excited to start this next chapter and would love to connect!
