Hello,
My name is Monyca and I currently work in special education as a paraprofessional. I have a passion for working with children and helping them to grow, learn and navigate the world and all the challenges that come with it. In the past, I have worked with children who are in foster/adoptive care and many other job settings with a variety of children and needs. Although I have a Bachelors degree in Biology, I enjoy helping children and would love to help foster children's imaginations and curiosity in the STEM field. In addition to the Bachelors degree I am also CPR/First Aid certified for children and adults. I would love to work with you and your family.

My experience with special needs children...

I currently work with children ages 3-5 who have a variety of special needs. Some of the children have an ASD or ECDD diagnosis or may have other physical disabilities. I have been in this job position for nearly two years.

In this job position, I get to work with the teacher, fellow paraprofessional and a whole host of other team members (school social worker, school psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, and Speech and Language Pathologist).

The most important part about being a nanny...

When watching the children, I love to watch the ah-ha moments when they solve hard problems or discover something cool. One of my favorite moments working with kids was watching a student who was deemed non-verbal say their first words. Since then, they have blossomed.
