More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been a pre school teacher for 6 years and also moved up to a K4 head start teacher! I also have a 19 yr old son just graduated St.Lukes going to college for chemical engineering and a minor in business. I was a single mother from 18 till now. I believe everyone needs a little help. I have also done private nanny care for a young little man, from the ages 3 months to 4yr old. I was the women’s director over Mission of Hope Women’s Heritage and Hope House a rehab where mothers who have no choice can bring there children. I have also fostered a child who was 4weeks old and had her till she was 9 months old. I also have 2 nephews 12 and 10 along with 2 nieces, 7 and 2 lol
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Science experiments…. Farm animals, building forts, lots of arts and crafts.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To remember if a 2 year can’t find his Paci and he screams like it’s the end of the world… well it is for that baby… so let it go. And kids tend to be more open with the nanny if the nanny is paying attention like they should. And you should love babies like they are your own and protect them. Cause it’s hard for moms to say here please help me with my baby. That shouldn’t be shamed or looked down apon. For sure being present for the child!
My experience with special needs children...
I have 2 family members with down syndrome, I also grew up with a family member in the house and she was told she wasn’t developed fully in the womb so she stop growing about 5 months in the stomach. She may not express herself like others but if we just take them time to listen and not get frustrated we will slowing pick up what someone who is having a hard time speaking. I have also had 4 special needs children in the past 3 years. And I just like to think I go with the flow
The most important part about being a nanny...
When I told a little boy if he didn’t stop acting up I would have to call Santa, and ( I am only 5ft tall 105 pounds) so they believe whole heartedly i work for Santa… so in the middle of July i faked called Santa and not even 5 min later… a whole grown Santa in uniform is at my classroom door.. i looked up at that little boy and he said “she does know him “ i do l ow him” i was even caught up in the moment.. that’s God
