A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Morgan, I am a 4th year Interior Design / Architecture student at Ringling college of Art & Design in Sarasota FL, but I am originally from Baltimore MD.

Though working in childcare is not my path, I love kids and have a good amount of experience working with children of all ages. I have experience working at: daycares, summer camps, regular babysitting jobs and leading children’s church activities, etc. I am a very openminded and easy going person, and can adapt to situations with ease. Being an artist I am very creative and children tend to love that about me because there is never a dull moment. Weather it be illustrating our favorite song or making homemade cookies, I always try to provide a new, fun experience.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

- Teacher Assistant (Daycare Ages 3mos. - 6yrs)
- Camp Counselor
- Children's Church Leader
- Girl Scout Leader
- Babysitter (longest sit was 5 days for ages 5yrs & 1yr)

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

*Drawing / Arts in Crafts*
-Encouraging kids to be creative and self expressive is very important, it helps them develop confidence and coping skills. Art projects also foster mental growth in children by providing opportunities to test out new ideas and practice organic problem solving.

*Exploring / Going outside*
- Natural environments are inherently more complex, therefore children develop better motor skills related to their understanding and ability to navigate their surroundings. Studies show that natural environments also provide mental and physical health restorative benefits. Being in nature helps children better develop social skills & encourages them to use their imagination, somethings that binge watching tv takes away.

*Interactive learning*
- Being interactive plays an important role in the life of children with different learning abilities. Providing an interactive teaching culture helps kids enjoy what they are learning.

The most important part about being a nanny...

- Providing a safe environment for the children.

My experience with special needs children...

I have no experience with special needs children.

Thabang B. - Seeking Work in Owings Mills

Part-Time Nanny Available in Owings Mills, MD: Thabang B.

18 year old boy who’s first impression of a child never lasted for so long. At first I figured it would be stressful especially because I’m a boy but it only took one weekend to change my whole perspective after having to babysit my Nephew. Ever since then everywhere I go and I meet children half my age or younger it feels like I’m around my best friends, my interactions with children in different communities have been so interesting. Before moving from where I used to live I had just spent 3 months there and had a group of kids offering me to live with them just so I won’t have to leave. That showed my that indeed I’m good with children and the fact that I enjoy it makes it so much more special. Even though I could get paid for it, I treat it like I volunteered .
