Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have 6 years of experience as a babysitter. Last summer I was a lead teacher for the 1-3 year old class. Since January I have been an assistant teacher at a daycare for the older threes class and have enjoyed every bit! I have experience working with students with special needs and highly interested in behavior learning and life skills! I’m trying to get as much experience as possible until I start my student teaching!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing crafts, sensory bins, and play dough with kids so that they can have fun but also improve their fine motor skills. I enjoy playing outside and getting sunlight! I enjoy doing little chores with kids like making a meal together or cleaning just so show them the importance of being responsible and taking care of your home.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the child is being met. I want the parents to know that their child is being taken care of and also being interacted with.

My experience with special needs children...

I was a helper in a special needs class during my junior and senior year of high school. I was with these kids for 2 hours and their ages ranged from 14-18. I would help them take the kids from place to place. Do activities and worksheets. I would also run errands with them like grocery shopping and interacting with other kids.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment when working with kiddos is when one of my life skills students told me that I was their friend. That was the most special thing to me because at times I am tough on the kid when it comes to behaving and listening but they expressed to me how much of a friend I am to them as well.
