A little bit about me

My name is Mya, and I've always had a natural love for kids, animals, and caregiving in general! I love being outdoors, listening to music, and cooking. I'm the proud aunt of 3 nieces and 3 nephews - the oldest is 12; the youngest is 6 months- and I've had years of hands-on experience babysitting all of them since they were babies.

In addition to caring for my family, I've also worked professionally as a caregiver for both children and adults with special needs. I'm patient, dependable, and very attentive:) Whether it's helping with homework, planning fun activities, providing personal care, or simply being a kind presence, I truly enjoy being someone others can count on.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a nanny for a 5 month of for 2 years while I lived in San Diego. I was a caretaker for 2 years for children with special needs ages ranging from 6-18. I also worked as a direct support professional for adults with special needs; spending time with them one on one, making meals, planning activities. As a DSP, I also worked in the day program with a group of adults with special needs. In the day program I would plan activities/outings, make lunches, teach life skills, and pick up/drop offs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some things I enjoy doing with kids are being active outdoors, arts and crafts, cooking, watching movies, going to the zoo or aquarium, reading, signing a long to music, or whatever their heart desires!
