More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Prior to the pandemic, I worked in a school center as a teacher. I was a camp counselor from ages 16-18. I also have three years of in home nannying experience and I work with infants and toddlers primarily.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy painting, reading, coloring, board games, tiles, puzzles, etc. When children are outdoors I enjoy swimming, nature walks, other types of water play, soccer, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is learning each individual child's needs and wants. Additionally, engaging actives and encouraging creative thinking is important. A nanny should be trustworthy, kind, and patient.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked briefly with special needs children in the classroom. I also have a non-verbal cousin who is autistic. I grew up helping him and learning how to interact with him to best suit his needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was definitely with two boys I had watched. They had a pool and we spent a lot of time in it over the summer. They were ages 5 and 7. The seven year old loved jumping off the diving board and showing me tricks but the 5 year old was a bit more timid. The parents indicated that they were interested in working him out of his shell a bit. One day I was grabbing their towels out of the pool closet and I heard a scream, I freaked out as I thought something had happened and ran back to the pool. Turns out the five year old had done his first dive. He ran over and hugged me and asked if he could do it again and show me. As we had spent all summer encouraging him, it was a really special moment to see him reach his goal.
