My name is Mylie. I am 20 years old and I have been working in childcare for a little over a year now. Before my child care career, I have done some babysitting for family and friends in the past and I had a temporary nannying job. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am very big into taking children out and doing things like going to the zoo or the aquarium. If the parent is not comfortable with that, it’s totally okay but that’s what I prefer to do. I can also plan activities and crafts for the kids which I also have experience in doing as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is definitely making those connections with the child(ren). I feel that you have to get to know the child first before you even start because the more you know about the child, the more you can learn the things they like to do, the things they dislike and just who they are as a person overall.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with a lot of children with autism and a lot of people see that as a challenge because of their behavior issues and I see that as an opportunity to learn more about the child and understand them a little more cause they can easily be misunderstood.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite memory was when I nannyed this one little boy and he was just like me, he loved to go outside and just be in nature. He never wanted to be in front of a screen. He loved to eat and then go outside.
