My experience with children has been exciting ! I have worked in daycares, as an assistant to help infants and toddlers, I was a camp counselor for 3+ years will all age groups ranging for 4-13 years old! I have a niece of my own who is 1 year and 3 months old who I babysit when needed! I know how to help children with special needs, I’ve been around that my whole life, I also know how to help children with other disabilities, I’m currently taking a behavioral technician course hoping to get my certification soon!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I believe it is so important for children to stay active! And to have fun. I was a 3 season athlete my whole life up until college. I played basketball, soccer, volleyball, I did dance for 10 years and cheerleading for 3, I went D1 for acrobatics and tumbling for a year and then went back to playing volleyball in college. I believe it’s so important for a child to expand their horizons , once they reach a certain age where they are able to do so! My father is a college baseball coach so I love to play any sport that is thrown my way!
My experience with special needs children...
Growing up I was surrounded by Special needs. My mom is a special needs assistant teacher back in NY. I would visit her classroom once I got older and hung around with the children, I currently watch a boy who has special needs and help out with the family when needed! I am also taking a behavioral technician course hoping to better understand behaviors and how I can help!
